Devyn Jones Brown
Devyn Brown is a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she grew up dancing and training at local dance studios. Devyn continued to pursue her passion for dance upon graduation when opening her own dance studio. She is the former owner and director of Dance With Me by Devyn in Zelienople, PA. Devyn had operated the studio for over a decade being recognized for her award winning competition team. Devyn made the decision in 2010 to begin a family and step away from her role as director at her studio. She continued to pursue her love for the art by joining the faculty of Elite Dance by Damian. Devyn has been recognized at both the regional and national level for her choreography. She has experience in many dance forms to include: ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, and hip hop. Devyn is a USA Gymnastics Certified instructor, and has worked to train nationally ranked competitive gymnasts. She is the choreographer for Riverside's Musicals and Seneca Valley's Musical. Her most recent choreography includes "Annie” and "The Wizard of Oz”. Devyn was just hired to choreograph for Stage 62's production of "The Drowsy Chaperone which will debut in Summer 2015. Devyn believes in mentoring students that love to dance. She is an inspirational teacher who promotes strong technique and positive self esteem to her students. Devyn is known for nurturing dancers to believe in themselves and embrace the philosophy of teamwork. Devyn has over 14 years of teaching experience. She is a strong addition to the EDBD faculty offering not only her expertise in teaching, but her knowledge and background as a studio director.
Brianna Casale began her dance training at an early age in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, acro/tumbling, contortion, musical theater, and hip hop styles. Brianna joined the Elite Dance Company at the age of 13 where she continued to develop her training through graduation. Brianna has been awarded top overall awards, scholarships, and titles at both the regional and National level while performing with Elite Dance by Damian Competition Team. Upon graduation of Deer Lakes High School, Brianna entered into the Dance Program at Slippery Rock University. Brianna continues to develop her technique and love for the art of dance while participating in various performance at SRU. As a very versatile dancer with an extensive background in various styles and genres, Brianna is a valued instructor who can teach a variety of dance forms. With over 14 years of experience and involvement with the Company at EDBD, Brianna is a wonderful addition to the faculty. She will continue to complete her Dance B.A at Slippery Rock while instructing/choreographing at Elite.
Ballet and Pointe
Jessica Borowczyk, a native of Naperville IN, began her dance training at the Academy of the Arts under Sherry Moray. She continued her training attending summer intensives with American Ballet Theatre, The Washington School of Ballet, Boston Ballet and Bodiography Center for Movement. In 2011, Jessica graduated magna cum laude from Mercyhurst College with a B.A. degree in dance and World Language and Cultures. While at Mercyhurst, she had the opportunity to work with choreographers Randy James, Bruce Marks, and Vivi Flindt, as well as dancing the leading roles in productions of Cinderella, Giselle, and The Nutcracker. She was also a member of the Lake Erie Ballet from 2008-2010. Jessica joined Bodiography Contemporary Ballet Company in 2011. Jessica would like to thank all of her teachers and especially her parents whom have supported her over the years. She is a strong technical ballet and pointe teacher for all of the Elite Dance by Damian students!
Ballet and Pointe
Misa Pascarella is from Centerville, Ohio. She was a member of the South Dayton Dance Theatre, where she performed the roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker. With a Scholarship in dance Misa attended Point Park University where she graduated with a BFA in dance, Magna Cum Laude in 2012. While attending Point Park, Misa performed the Light Rain pas de deux and participated in numerous opportunities. She joined Bodiography in the fall of 2012. Misa teaches Company 5 Ballet and Pointe at EDBD!
Becca Alward has been a part of Elite since the studio opened its doors over a decade ago. She has trained under the direction of Damian and faculty in the styles of ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, acro/tumbling, and musical theater. While still a member of the senior competition team, Becca began teaching her first creative movement class with Elite's recreational program. During her college years, Becca took on more teaching responsibility and began choreographing for Elite's competitive team. Since then, her artistry has won her several choreography awards, regional and national high scores; as well as capturing first place winners at both the regional and national level. She is also the professional music editor for EDBD. Becca credits her successes in the dance world to the training she received at Elite Dace by Damian. Becca earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2012. She is currently employed by Calgon Carbon Co. while continuing to instruct and choreography at Elite Dance by Damian.
Teri Jones has been a dance instructor for over 30 years at various studios in the Pittsburgh area. She formally was the co-owner with her daughter Devyn Brown of the Dance With Me by Devyn Dance Studio. Teri instructs Creative Movement, Tiny Tots Combo, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Acro/Tumbling for the Academy Program. She has a creative approach for instructing beginner students , while developing a basis for their technical foundation. Teri is also a master seamstress who has been designing and sewing costumes for competition routines for many years. She has been recognized and awarded at various dance competitions for her creative costuming. Teri enjoys working with young students and facilitating their growth through her passion and dedication for teaching.
